As an essential service provider of natural gas network and metering services in the Whanganui-Manawatu region, GasNet wishes to reassure consumers and the public that there is no impact on its provision of a safe and reliable supply of gas to homes and businesses. Loss of Gas Supplies in Whanganui - March 2021

GasNet Limited (GasNet) was advised at 9:10 am of a third party damage to gas network in Liverpool St, Whanganui.

GasNet responded and requested Fire Service attendance at 9.23 am. Fire Service and Police determined an evacuation radius of 500 m.

Main isolated at 10:17 am and 2 consumers affected.

Incident is under control with 5 GasNet personnel on site. No one injured.

House by house all clear check for presence of gas is occurring, prior to okay for affected residents to be able to return to their homes.

Normal service will be restored later today.

GasNet thanks Fire Service and Police for their assistance, and affected community for their patience.
